Characterisation of Gaetan Dugas seems suspect. The same exchange is repeated with minor variations throughout media and the years. What was the original source? Had to remind myself the meaning of exponent and asymptotic. The distinction made between failures and attacks was interesting. Although a basic concept I had never thought of it like this before. That the internet in particular can be simultaneously resilient to almost infinite failures and extremely vulnerable to a concurrent attack at its key nodes.
